Brock was born and raised on a wheat and cattle ranch near Kiowa, Kansas. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics Degree. Brock worked 13 years with a leading farm and ranch management and real estate company. The last ten years there Brock supervised grain marketing for the national firm and supervised management and real estate operations in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Colorado. Prior to 2006, Brock owned and operated an agricultural consulting firm specializing in commodity risk management. Brock is an Accredited Farm Manager (AFM) and registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) and carries real estate brokers licenses in Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. Community, church and local organizations have always been important to Brock and he has served on many local boards. He is as a past president of the Kansas Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.
